2022 Hyundai Tucson Review
Posted on September 21, 2021
The futuristic look initially grabs attention, but it is the incredible style, high-tech features, and awesome driving dynamics that will win the hearts of those that encounter the 2022 Hyundai Tucson. Completely reimagined and redesigned for 2022, the Tucson has truly come into its own, offering gas, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid versions to meet the needs of all buyers.
Performance
Hyundai offers three powertrain options for the 2022 Tucson. The standard gasoline-powered Tucson features a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine that delivers 187 horsepower. It is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and can be built with either front-wheel drive (FWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD).
For more environmentally conscious buyers, the Tucson will be offered in a hybrid version, which is powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine to deliver 227 horsepower. It is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and AWD. The six-speed, AWD transmission is also included in the plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) version of the Tucson, which will deliver 261 horsepower as well as an all-electric driving range of 51.5km.
Safety
Hyundai takes safety seriously, which is why the Hyundai SmartSense suite of safety features are included on all models of the 2022 Tucson. Camera, radar, and motion detection technologies work together to provide drivers with peace of mind and keep them, and everyone around them, safe.
The 2022 Hyundai Tucson features such standard driver-assist technologies as: a rearview camera, rear occupant alert, high beam assist, driver attention warning, lane keeping assist, lane following assist, and forward collision-avoidance assist with pedestrian and cyclist detection.
Design
Forward-thinking technology is at the heart of the Tucson’s interior design. The SUV features a smooth and simplistic dashboard highlighted by not only a digital, touchscreen infotainment system, but also a digital gauge display that sits front and centre in front of the driver. A push-button gear shifter and intuitive steering wheel controls add to the seamless design.
Taking cues from the Palisade SUV and recently redesigned Sonata and Elantra sedans, the Tucson offers an interior that is not only thoughtfully arranged but filled with quality materials and luxury features.
Warranty
One thing that sets the 2022 Hyundai Tucson apart from the competition, besides its daring design and luxurious interior, is its warranty coverage. Hyundai offers a limited warranty of five years or 60,000km, a powertrain warranty of 10 years or 100,000km, and three years or 36,000km of complimentary maintenance.

The 2022 Hyundai Tucson is offered for sale in five model versions in Kanata and across Canada: Essential, Preferred, N Line, Luxury Hybrid AWD, and Ultimate Hybrid AWD.
