2023 Hyundai Tucson | Features, Trims, & Price in Canada
The 2023 Hyundai Tucson is a small SUV that continues to provide good value for the money, motoring in a compact package. It was redesigned in 2022, so there are few changes in the 2023 lineup.
What's New For 2023
The new styling and modern interior were released in 2022, so, unsurprisingly, Hyundai has not made significant changes for 2023. There are some changes to a few features that are offered with each model. In the HEV range, one significant change has come with Hyundai making adaptive cruise control, stop-and-go, junction turn assist, and forward collision warning all standard features.
Engine Specs & Fuel Economy
The Tucson offers two types of engines: a standard internal combustion engine, and a hybrid variant.
The gas-powered models have a Smartstream 2.5L GDI four-cylinder engine with up to 187 hp. The plug-in hybrid comes with a 1.6L turbo engine and a 66.9 kW electric motor with a 13.8 kWh lithium-ion battery giving 261hp combined.
The gas-powered Tucson fitted with the 2.5L engine gives 9.1L/100km around town and 8.2L/100km on the highway. The plug-in hybrid gives 6.8L/100km around town and 6.6L/100km on the highway, and it will travel about 50 kilometres on a battery charge.
Infotainment & Technology
An 8-inch touchscreen comes as standard, with a 10-inch optional upgrade. This screen forms part of a waterfall-type structure on the dash, and the systems are intuitive. It integrates smartphones with Apple and Android options and includes an excellent navigation system.
The Tucson offers keyless entry, and push-button or remote engine start, ensuring customers don't have to dig around for keys. Using the same technology, the rear door will automatically open if the fob is held near it for more than three seconds.
The Tucson also has Hyundai SmartSense, which includes camera, radar, and motion detection technology.
